Riyadh Municipality’s astonishing success with EverSuite

Riyadh Municipality started as a small municipality in its potentials, tasks, and employees. It was founded in 1356 Hijri; back then the head of the municipality was in charge. In 1362 Hijri (1943 A.D.), it was divided into many departments. At that time, the tasks of the municipality started to expand and became linked to the security and police.

After transferring ministries to Riyadh in 1375 Hijri, the city widened, which affected the municipality’s activities; internal migration increased and people moved to this attraction area seeking job opportunities and education or trying to leave the desert. Therefore, the tasks, responsibilities, budget and number of workers significantly multiplied.

Riyadh Municipality (RIM) had faced numerous challenges, including:

  • Absence of a unified ECM Platform to serve all of RIM (Headquarter, branches and offices).
  • Existence of 3 to 4 standalone silos (non-connected DMS) implemented in different departments
  • RIM did not have any control over the content shared (sent or received) with the municipality.
  • Difficulties in finding the right document due to misfiling or losing valuable information.

Consequently, Riyadh Municipality required a web based state-of-the-art Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution to be implemented on the latest technologies in high availability architecture.

The first to be appointed to this position till 1360 Hijri (1941 A.D.) was Mr. Hassan Bukhari. In 1362 Hijri (1943 A.D.), Mr. Zaini Berri became the head of the municipality and he divided it into many departments such as “Administration”, “Cleaning Department”…; at that time the tasks of the municipality started to expand and became linked to the security and police.
